KBS Summer Programs- research and internship opportunities available!

Applications for Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) summer programs are open, apply now before the February 15th deadline! Students who spend a summer at KBS will gain a wide variety of research and professional experiences and become part of a close-knit community at our world-renowned biological station on beautiful Gull Lake. Our summer 2023 research and internship opportunities will run from May 14-July 29th and include:

Undergraduate Research Apprentice (URA) positions- The KBS URA is a part-time paid research position to work with a KBS lab/research group. Includes a full room & board scholarship! No prior research experience is required. 

 

Undergraduate Internships- KBS internships offer a variety of part-time paid professional experiences to undergraduate students- including avian care, forestry, and communications. Includes a full room & board scholarship!  

 

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) positions- The NSF-funded REU experience is a full-time paid research position to work with a KBS lab/research group. Includes full room & board as well as research supply budget. No prior research experience is required.  

 

Our summer field courses for 2023 will include BS 162, IBIO 355/L, FW 417, and PLB 418.

***Please note that a variety of need-based scholarships are available to help cover tuition costs for our summer courses! *** 

 

We will be accepting applications for our URA, REU, and Intern positions through February 15th 2023 (extended from original deadline of Feb 1st). Our summer field course request form will remain open until courses begin. Underrepresented, low income, first-generation college and veteran students are strongly encouraged to apply for the KBS summer programs.
